Does pet sitting cost more if I have a lot of pets?

Answer: No, our charges are based on our standard visit time of half an hour. We will care for as many pets you may have for the same charge, as long as they can be cared for within that half hour visit time. We will evaluate the time needed to appropriately care for your pets during the Meet & Greet and, if it appears that care for your pets will exceed half an hour, we will give you an adjusted rate BEFORE beginning service.

I only need pet sitting visits every other day. Can you do that?

Answer: No. It is our policy to visit your pets every day, to insure that their health, safety and security are not compromised. Many people’s pets are very self-sufficient and could conceivably go a day without care – but you cannot always anticipate what will happen in 24 hours with no one in the home. We’ve seen instances of animals becoming trapped in a closet, nearly suffocating in a plastic bag they found in the trash, turning on the gas burner of a stove (and lighting the stove itself!), and other near-tragedies. Imagine if no one had checked on these animals in time... Fortunately, all of these stories had happy endings.

I have three dogs. Why won't you walk more than two dogs at one time?
Answer: Safety. While we may know how your pets will likely behave on their walk, we cannot predict what other animals that we encounter may do. We are unwilling to put your pets at risk by having one person responsible for more pets than they have hands to control them with! We will not walk more than two dogs at one time, no matter how well-behaved.

Do you 'pack walk'?
Answer: No. We do individual walks, for your pets only.

How do I schedule pet sitting or dog walking visits?

Answer: Please contact us for a Meet & Greet, a half-hour appointment where we come out to your home to meet with you and your pets. At that time we will discuss in detail the needs of your pet, and let him get to know us. We will also go over all of our New Client Paperwork, and answer any questions. There is NO charge for a Meet & Greet visit as long as you book services; otherwise a one-time $10 charge for our time and travel applies.

I have a friend or neighbor who can watch my pets. Why isn't that good enough?
Answer: Pet owners are often tempted to ask a neighbor (or a neighbor's child) or other family member to stop in and feed their pets while they are away. This is fine sometimes -- but please ask yourself these questions:

1. Will this person make the well-being, safety and happiness of my pets their #1 priority, no matter what else comes up?

2. Is this person qualified to evaluate my pet's health and recognize a dangerous change, should one occur?

3. Does this person know the 24-hour emergency vets available in my area, and have reliable transportation to get my pets there if needed, anytime night or day?

4. Does this person have the experience to know how to handle an emergency with my pets or my home?

5. If something happens, does this person have liability insurance to cover the damages to my home, my pets, and my belongings? 

A neighbor or friend can be a good resource in a pinch, but when it comes to the real-life responsibility of caring for something as important as your pets and your home, put your trust in a professional pet care provider like Purrfectly Pampered Pets.
